Wavemakers 2026 - 2027
The Steuben County Wavemakers is a comprehensive aquatics program designed to guide swimmers from their very first strokes to championship-level competition. Through our progressive pathway—including Learn-to-Swim, Prep, Bronze, Silver, and Gold—we provide every athlete with the opportunity to develop at their own pace in a safe, positive, and challenging environment.
Our experienced coaching staff is committed to teaching proper technique, building confidence, and fostering a lifelong love for the sport of swimming. As swimmers advance through the program, they develop not only stronger swimming skills, but also valuable life skills such as discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and goal setting.
Whether your child is learning to be comfortable in the water, preparing for their first swim meet, or pursuing state, national, or collegiate-level goals, the Wavemakers Pathway offers a clear progression that supports long-term growth and success. Every swimmer has a place, every achievement is celebrated, and every step forward brings new opportunities to learn, improve, and thrive.
2. Prep
Building Skills. Preparing for the Team.
Prep serves as the bridge between swim lessons and competitive swimming. Athletes begin learning proper technique, streamlines, starts, turns, and practice habits while becoming comfortable training in a team environment. This group prepares swimmers for the transition into competitive swimming. We offer three six week sessions, you can sign up for just one, two, or even all 3!

3. Bronze
Building the Foundation. Racing with Confidence.
Bronze introduces swimmers to competitive training while continuing to emphasize proper technique. Athletes build endurance, improve all four competitive strokes, and begin learning race strategy while participating in their first meets.

4. Silver
Building Strength. Raising the Standard.
Silver swimmers begin training at a higher level with increased expectations and commitment. Practices focus on refining technique, improving aerobic capacity, developing race strategies, and preparing athletes for higher levels of competition.

5. Gold
Building Champions. Making a Legacy.
Gold is our highest level of training and is designed for athletes committed to reaching their full potential. Swimmers train in a challenging, supportive environment that emphasizes advanced race strategy, speed, endurance, leadership, accountability, and championship performance. Whether an athlete’s goal is qualifying for state meets, competing at the national level, or pursuing collegiate swimming, Gold provides the training and culture needed to succeed.

6. USA - All Season
The Steuben County Wavemakers is a USA Swimming registered club competing within Indiana Swimming LSC. This is an additional fee for Wavemakers members. This option provides an additional 4 hours in the pool per week with a USA Swimming–certified coach and an extra 2 meets per month (meet fees still apply).

8. High School Athlete
This is a different pricing option. We acknowledge that the Indiana high school swim season is in the middle of our winter competitive season, and Ohio and Michigan high school seasons also overlap with our winter season. Due to this overlap, we understand that an athlete swimming in high school may attend fewer meets and practices during this time. If that is the case, you are eligible for the High School price.
